Quote of the Day: Nailing It Hard Edition

Via Joe Huffman (via AR15.com):

In short, Mr. Obama, your political philosophies represent everything that is wrong with our country. You represent the culture of government dependence instead of self reliance; Entitlement mentality instead of personal achievement; Penalization of the successful to reward the unmotivated; Political correctness instead of open mindedness and open debate. If you are successful, you may preside over the final transformation of America from being the greatest and most self-reliant culture on earth, to just another country of whiners and wimps, who sit around looking to the government to solve their problems.

Read the whole thing.

It's amazing [read: absolutely disgusting] to think that Joe Biden, or anyone for that matter, could look at this man, see someone who's not paying their patriotic "fair share" of taxes, and seek to take, by force, more of what he's earned to "spread around" for their own vote-buying income redistribution schemes.

But, don't you dare call them socialists. That's racist.

Rhetorical Question of the Day

Via NewsBusters:

If the Los Angeles Times had a video of John McCain toasting a supporter of the old South African apartheid government, does anyone think they wouldn't release it without hesitation?

Gee, that's a tough one.

"Obama Is No Stranger To Me..."

If ever there was a reader's comment worthy of being bumped to front-page status, this one is it. Commenting on my "Tito the Racist" post, Oscar writes (emphasis mine):

I am Hispanic, like Tito. I owe a debt of gratitude to those who founded this Nation, who made it possible for people like me to thrive in liberty, and to those who came after to secure its survival. I was not born in this country, but I love it with all of my heart. I am proud to serve in her Army, and I am proud to support John and Sarah.

I cannot fathom why so many native-born Americans seem eager to hand power to Obama and his ilk. Obama is no stranger to me -- he is the same type of arrogant, corrupt, Marxist politician so common in my native country; the same type of politician who "spread" nothing but poverty, misery, and despair. To see his like on the threshold of the American presidency is (without exaggeration) one of the most painful things I have witnessed in my life.

God save our great Nation.

Amen.

On a related note, my wife's family came to the United States in 1985, when she was a teenager, so that her father could start his own business in California's Silicon Valley.

He wasn't looking for a handout.

He wasn't asking for someone else's wealth to be spread around for his benefit.

He wasn't looking for "social justice".

He was leaving a country and continent entrenched in socialist economic ideals to make a better life for his family in a country where hard work and determination are rewarded, not punished. He recognized the opportunities for success that come with the freedom that we, as Americans, enjoy, yet too often take for granted.

There's a reason why countless numbers of people have risked their lives to try to make it to the "land of the free and the home of the brave".

It's worth the risk.

Our country stands strong, because we believe in equality of opportunity, not in the concept of "equality of outcome", mandated and enforced by an all-powerful, centralized government.

And, as the world's benchmark of economic freedom, prosperity, and opportunity, it's a country worth fighting for.

Make no mistake about it, electing someone so beholden and committed to radical, leftist ideology as Barack Obama to the presidency would deal a crippling blow to the sacred Constitutional ideals that make this great country what it is.

Don't let that happen.

President McCain's First 100 Days Seconds

Step 1: Kick Helen Thomas out of the White House briefing room and give her chair to Shelby Holliday, who's got more journalistic integrity and backbone than all the network news anchors, reporters, editors, and producers in this country combined.

Step 1: Read, Step 2: Repeat

Bill Whittle: Shame, Cubed

Too good to excerpt, but I'm gonna anyways.

The United States of America — five percent of the world’s population — leads the world economically, militarily, scientifically, and culturally — and by a spectacular margin. Any one of these achievements, taken alone, would be cause for enormous pride. To dominate as we do in all four arenas has no historical precedent. That we have achieved so much in so many areas is due — due entirely — to the structure of our society as outlined in the Constitution of the United States.

The entire purpose of the Constitution was to limit government. That limitation of powers is what has unlocked in America the vast human potential available in any population.

[...]

We have, in our storied history, elected Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives and moderates. We have fought, and will continue to fight, pitched battles about how best to govern this nation. But we have never, ever in our 232-year history, elected a president who so completely and openly opposed the idea of limited government, the absolute cornerstone of makes the United States of America unique and exceptional.

If this does not frighten you — regardless of your political affiliation — then you deserve what this man will deliver with both houses of Congress, a filibuster-proof Senate, and, to quote Senator Obama again, “a righteous wind at our backs.”

That a man so clear in his understanding of the Constitution, and so opposed to the basic tenets it provides against tyranny and the abuse of power, can run for president of the United States is shameful enough.

We’re just getting started.

READ. THE. WHOLE. THING.

Tito the Racist

You can just taste the acrid bitterness of angry, white hate.

"I'm proud to be an American citizen."

"I have so much things to say about this great country. I have so much things that I want to say about free enterprise and hard work. Everything we stand for is in danger by higher taxes and less freedom. Everything we stand for is made stronger by people like you, like John McCain and Sarah Palin."

"This country has given me so much."

"My job today is to stand before you, stand up for freedom, stand up here, and introduce to you a great American, the Governor of Alaska and the next Vice President of the United States of America, Sarah Palin!"

Who Says Size Matters?

A feel-good story out of (God Bless) Texas:

LUFKIN, Texas — A pizza delivery man who was taking an order to a house in East Texas pulled out a gun and opened fire on two would-be robbers, police said.

One of the alleged robbers was hospitalized after getting shot in the back, Lufkin police said. The Papa John's pizza delivery man, who's licensed to carry a handgun, wasn't hurt.

The shooting was Tuesday night, after the delivery man walked up to a house and rang a doorbell, Lufkin police said. It turned out the house was vacant and two armed men approached him from the side of the house, The Lufkin Daily News reported Thursday. The delivery man drew a .22 caliber Derringer and fired two shots, and the assailants ran away, police said.

It's been said many times before, but bears repeating: a .22 pocket gun in your pocket is immeasurably more valuable as a tool for self-defense on the street than the tiger-striped Desert Eagle sitting in your pistol safe at home.

Boston Phoenix: One Toke Over the Edge

Alternate Post Title: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Alternate Alternate Post Title: Reason #644 Why I Removed the Link to the Boston Phoenix From My Sidebar

Boston Phoenix: Dictator McCain?

Cliff Notes Version: If McCain wins the election, he will install himself as Supreme Dictator of our country, with the help of his loyal cabal of goose-stepping apparatchiks in the Supreme Court (and, they've got the childish and woefully unoriginal Nazi salute photoshop to prove it).

OK, kids, now take off your tinfoil hats. It's pop quiz time.

Which candidate running for president today...

...has threatened the FCC licenses of television stations choosing to run ads produced by independent groups supporting his opponent?

...had taxpayer funded "Truth Squads" comprised of prosecutors and law enforcement officers threatening his ideological opponents in an effort to stifle their right to free speech?

...has, throughout his career, been more openly hostile to the concept of private ownership of firearms than any other presidential candidate in our country's history?

...sent out e-mail "action alerts" to his followers urging them to go after radio stations that planned on allowing his critics to voice their opinions on the air?

...paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to the organization currently flooding voter registration offices across the country with tens of thousand of bogus registration forms in an effort to delegitimize our electoral process?

...had funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to groups founded by radical, leftist militants seeking to remove traditional education from our country's classrooms and replace it with socialistic indoctrination?

...has achieved power throughout his political career by embracing the corruption that exists and flourishes within his own party, instead of challenging it?

...would be more likely to re-enact the Fairness Doctrine to allow the government to regulate the content being broadcast by conservative-leaning media outlets?

...had been openly allowing credit card donations on his website without any address verification feature activated to prevent fraudulent campaign contributions?

Yet, the sagacious scribes on the editorial staff at the Boston Phoenix would have you believe that John McCain is the candidate most likely to assume the autocratic role of dictator, upon reaching the presidency?

We've Been Down This Road Before

Let's play a round of "Guess Who?".

A newcomer to national politics, he claimed to transcend partisan labels. He moved to the center during the campaign, at a time when the Democrats held large congressional majorities. In a troubled economy, he told voters he would keep taxes down for most Americans, limit spending, and balance the budget, all while implementing ambitious social programs. He planned to cut military spending to free money for other purposes, but assured moderates and conservatives that when it came to America’s enemies, he would be tougher than the Republicans. The media, droves of moderates, and some conservatives believed him, having pegged him as a man of character.

Barack Obama?

Nope.

They Don't Call It the "Empire" State For Nothing

Ushering in the Bloomberg Monarchy:

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Mayor Michael Bloomberg won the right to seek re-election as New York's City Council voted on Thursday to extend the two-term limit for elected officials as the city grapples with the global financial crisis.

Bloomberg, a former Wall Street trader and self-made billionaire who was elected in 2001 and in 2005, wants to run again on grounds that his financial experience will be valuable in guiding the city through lean fiscal times ahead.

The 51-member council voted 29-22 to approve the measure. About two-thirds of the council would have been forced out of office under the two-term limit, but they can now run for a third term in the November 2009 election.

[...]

In 1993 and 1996, New Yorkers voted to limit the mayor and other city officials to two four-year terms. A Quinnipiac University poll on Tuesday found 89 percent of voters say a referendum, not a council vote, should decide the issue.

Council Speaker Christine Quinn told the council that New Yorkers could express any disagreement with the council's decision at next year's election by not voting for Bloomberg or other members seeking a third term go pound sand.

You mean, Bloomberg's an authoritarian with no respects for the rights of his subjects (aka: the citizenry)? Who knew?

Let's Play a Game

It's called Spot the Pattern.

Don't worry, I'm sure the media will be bringing this story into people's living room in due time. But first, they've got to finish working up a tip they got from someone who swears he saw Todd Palin buying a box of Just For Men at the Fred Meyer's in Wasilla back in 2005.

Keep Your Powder Dry

This shit is gonna get a whole lot worse, before it gets any better.

In a Holding Pattern

If ever there was a story that calls for the 48-Hour Rule of Blogging*, the one about the young woman in Pittsburgh supposedly getting the letter "B" scratched onto her face by a mugger who was enraged by her McCain bumper sticker would be it.

Hot Air has her picture up, and the first thing I (and others, I'm sure) thought of when I saw it was this jerk-off who made headlines back in December of 04.

Quick Question

Exactly, how many radical, anti-American Communists and terrorists must one person be affiliated with before people start to think that maybe, just maybe, that person shouldn't be given the keys to the front door of the White House and made Commander-in-Chief of the American Armed Forces?

Seriously, what's the cut-off point?

Andrew McCarthy: Another Communist in Obama’s Orb

With what little media oxygen there has been sucked out by the largely uninformative discussion of Ayers (and his wife and Weather Underground ally, Bernadine Dohrn) — in which the mantra “unrepentant terrorist” has been a pale substitute for the critical matter of the Ayers’s ideology that Obama plainly shares — much has been missed. Significantly, that includes another key Obama contact, Mike Klonsky.

Here’s what you need to know. Klonsky is an unabashed communist whose current mission is to spread Marxist ideology in the American classroom. Obama funded him to the tune of nearly $2 million. Obama, moreover, gave Klonsky a broad platform to broadcast his ideas: a “social justice” blog on the official Obama campaign website.

To be clear, as it seems always necessary to repeat when Obamaniacs, in their best Saul Alinsky tradition, shout down the opposition: This is not about guilt by association. The issue is not that Obama knows Klonsky … or Ayers … or Dohrn … or Wright … or Rashid Khalidi …

The issue is that Obama promoted and collaborated with these anti-American radicals. The issue is that he shared their ideology.

It should go without saying, but READ THE WHOLE THING.

Now, if anyone reading this is planning on voting for Barack Obama, answer me this. Are you so uninformed that you know nothing about his past and present relationships with these people, or are you cool with that?

Is there a third scenario I'm overlooking here? Like, maybe someone's holding you child or grandmother hostage until you submit to them photographic proof that you voted for Obama?

Tell Me Something I Don't Already Know

Well, it's now officially confirmed.

"Socialist" is now a secret, right-wing code word for "black", hence anyone describing Barack Obama's economic policies, which are universally centered around the concept of "spreading the wealth around", as "socialist" can now be branded as hate-filled bigots and excoriated by the Obamapologists in the Tanning Bed Media.

The "socialist" label that Sen. John McCain and his GOP presidential running mate Sarah Palin are trying to attach to Sen. Barack Obama actually has long and very ugly historical roots.

[...]

McCain and Palin have simply reached back in history to use an old code word for black.

From here on out, any time I use the phrase "Lewis Diuguid", feel free to interpret it as a secret code phrase for "race-baiting assclown".

Of course, to my readers and anyone with an IQ higher than their shoe size, this is old news. I've had that one pegged at #2 on my list back in June.

Also, from two weeks ago:

Before I comment further, I better consult the official Secret Racist Code Words List, to make sure I don't say anything "racially tinged".

Aw, crap.

"Socialist" is on the list.

We can't talk about this anymore, sorry. To do so would serve as concrete, indisputable evidence that we harbor malevolent feelings toward all people of color.

So, what will be the next "secret code word" (not currently on my list) used by the Left to portray McCain/Palin supporters as racist hatemongers? Submit your best guess in the comments. Winner will receive a t-shirt of his or her choosing from the Gadsden and Culpeper American Heritage Shoppe, courtesy of yours truly.

Not Holding My Breath

Still waiting for video of some of these so-called hate-filled, rage-infested Republicans throwing themselves in the path of a Democrat candidate's motorcade, forcing the police into a physical and potentially dangerous confrontation.

Remember, unlike John McCain, Barack Obama actually called upon his supporters to "get in people's faces".

Two words: Petulant children.

Thanks for playing, kids. We'll let the grown-ups take over now.

Exit Question: If a gaggle of hippies CHOOSES to get run over by a motorcade, who are we to take away their sacred right to choose?

Be Afraid

Be very afraid.

Some conservative activists, despairing (prematurely) about the chances for victory on November 4th, argue that an Obama win could be a blessing in disguise. According to this logic, The One would occupy the White House for only One term and whatever big government, liberal programs he managed to enact could be swiftly repealed by some future "true conservative" champion.

[...]

But conservatives need to face the fact that Barack Obama has promised profound systemic changes that will be irreversible—absolutely permanent alterations of our economy and government where there is no chance at all that Republican office-holders of the future could in any way repair the damage.

Read the whole thing.

Now!

I honestly wish I could say Medved's just being paranoid, but I can't. This is some f***ing scary shit. This country had better wake up to the reality that an Obama presidency would be utterly devastating to the well-being of the great Republic bestowed upon us by our forefathers.

The thought of a man, spiritually and philosophically molded by the preaching and teachings of Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, and Saul Alinsky, becoming the leader of the most powerful nation on earth should scare the ever-loving piss out of every man, woman, and child in the free world.

If America follows the "carrot of hope" into the voting booth, we are doomed.

And, there are people in this country who want to keep his party in charge of Congress???

Nope, Nothing to See Here

It's not that the MSM doesn't want to cover this story coming out of New Mexico about McCain's campaign bus taking rifle fire.

They do. And, they'll get to it, eventually.

But right now, they're busy working up a story from an anonymous source in Ohio telling them Joe the Plumber DOESN'T RECYCLE!!!!1!!!1

File this one under: Asking the obvious

Could you imagine the media hysteria if a shot was taken at an Obama campaign bus? Forget saturation coverage. Every show on every network would be interrupted and we'd be undergoing a media orgy over the climate of hate.

But, don't you dare call them biased.

UPDATE: I'm still looking for verification of this story. If anyone finds a link, kindly post it in the comments. If this report is accurate, there's no way that there weren't any pictures taken that could easily corroborate the story.

UPDATE II: As far as verification of this story is concerned, while it would be nice to get some photos or eyewitness reports to verify this story, don't forget that all it took was a blog post from some lefty fruitbat to get the Obamastream Media to start churning out their "Some people are saying (wink,wink)..." stories regarding the "Trig Palin is Bristol's baby" smear.

Seeing how this story goes against Das Narrative, it will likely never see the light of day, even if it gets backed up by seven independent sources and multiple state and local law enforcement officials.

UPDATE III: I'm filing this one under "I'll believe it when I see it".

No way this news could stay quiet for this long, given how many people must have had access to the bus with some kind of camera on them to photograph the damage and a cell phone to - oh, I don't know - call someone to talk about what happened.

I do stand by the original post title, though.

No alteration necessary.

ABC: Allegiance to Barack Compulsory

What bias?

"...Let It Begin Here"

Obama campaign workers* caught hooking up with "host families" in swing states for "extended visits", so that they can illegally register to vote and cast fraudulent votes.

Where's the media on this? Does this not deserve a little looksie?

My guess is they're still camped out in front of the house of the guy who dared to ask their candidate a question, rummaging through his garbage cans.

If this were being done by McCain campaign workers, the ensuing media shitstorm would be immeasurable in breadth, width, and depth. That is what we call INCONTROVERTIBLE FACT.

Oh, and his Holy Barackness now wants the Attorney General's office to investigate Republicans who dare to talk about voter fraud being perpetrated by Democrat-friendly organizations.

Welcome to textbook fascism.

Hope and change, my bitter ass!

To quote Captain John Parker:

"Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here."

Make no mistake about it.

We have been fired upon.

Quote of the Year

This video is 60 years old, but the sentiment is timeless.

Set aside ten minutes out of your day to watch this. You'll be glad you did. Then ask yourself which America you want your children to grow up in - the same one that your parents and grandparents grew up in, or Barack Obama's "changed" America.

Money Quote:

When anybody preaches disunity, tries to pit one of us against the other, through class warfare, race hatred or religious intolerance, you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedom and destroy our very lives.

Remind you of anyone you might have seen on TV lately?

Tim Robbins Predicts the Future

As we watch the national media and their field reporters of loyal Obamacorns in the lefty blogosphere tear Joe the Plumber apart over his gross violation of the unwritten Messiah Protection Act, let us reflect upon the words of Hollywood leftist, Tim Robbins.

From April 2003:

A chill wind is blowing in this nation. A message is being sent through the White House and its allies in talk radio and Clear Channel and Cooperstown. If you oppose this administration, there can and will be ramifications.

Every day, the air waves are filled with warnings, veiled and unveiled threats, spewed invective and hatred directed at any voice of dissent.

[...]

Our ability to disagree, and our inherent right to question our leaders and criticize their actions define who we are. To allow those rights to be taken away out of fear, to punish people for their beliefs, to limit access in the news media to differing opinions is to acknowledge our democracy's defeat.

I'd be hard pressed to say it better myself.

Though, I suspect Mr. Robbins and his liberal, celebrity friends would be more inclined to describe the recent thuggish behavior of the Obama campaign and its surrogates in the mainstream media as a "refreshing tropical breeze" blowing HopenchangeTM across the land.

Remember When Dissent Was Patriotic?

Those are going to be called the good old days, should Obama move into the Oval Office in January, ushering in a new era in America, where those who dare to ask (gasp!) questions of the ruling class will be mercilessly smeared and have their lives destroyed by the mainstream media and the Ruler's armies of sycophants (but, I repeat myself).

Next Stop: Dover - UPDATED

We'll be heading out in a couple minutes to make our way over to Dover for the Sarah Palin rally. I hope I can get some good pics and video to post here.

At the very least, I'll try to get some quality shots of some of the whiny, little ObamacornsTM, who, I suspect, will be coming up from Massachusetts in droves to scream like binky-deprived babies, whilst practicing that special leftist brand of tolerance we've grown to know so well.

Stay tuned.

UPDATE: Here's a picture of the line to get into the rally.

And, that doesn't include the portion of the line that ran from the sidewalk (far left of picture) to the school itself. So much for getting their early enough to get in.

So, we walked to the backside of the school, where they had an area set up for the overflow crowd, with speakers and a big TV screen, so we could see and hear what was going on inside.

Getting to walk down the road alongside the school toward the field in the back gave us a great chance to see all the Obamacorns who came to protest Governor Palin's appearance.

These pictures hardly need any additional commentary. Brainwashed, liberal Gore-bots in polar bear costumes pretty much speak for themselves.

bipartisan (adj): works well with Communists and Socialists.

The obligatory "Palin's a racist" sign.

When we were told the venue was filled to capacity, the people working the event told us that Governor Palin would come out to speak to us "overflow" folks. And, she did.

I'll post the video of that shortly.

UPDATE II: Here's the somewhat blurry (sorry 'bout that) video.

Your Mission, If You Choose To Accept It...

...is to watch this video, and not get the chorus stuck in your head for the better part of a month.

Nope. Nothing To See Here. Move Along.

Election officials in Indiana reviewing ACORN-submitted voter registration forms stopped after determining that, of the first 2,100 forms they looked at, EVERY SINGLE ONE was fraudulent.

CNN's Drew Griffin: So that's obvious fraud.

No shit.

The questions lots of folks are asking is where is the Department of Justice on this? Where is the rest of the mainstream media? Why does no one seem to care too much?

This is like some unknown, 170-pound shortstop from some unheard of Division III school, getting drafted by the Yankees, bulking up to 240-pounds over the winter, and starting his rookie season by hitting a home run in each of his first 26 at-bats.

Nope. Nothing suspicious going on here.

The truly pathetic part in all of this being that there were hours and hours congressional hearings over steroid use in Major League Baseball, and it was front-page news for months on end.

Here we have a major, concerted effort to undermine the very process by which our Republic is shaped, and there's a veritable symphony of crickets coming from the DNC's Public Relations Office press.

Can we question their patriotism now?

Todd Palin at NHSA Grass Drags and Water Cross

Well, you couldn't have asked for a nicer day to race snowmobiles across open water, not a cloud to be seen.

I got there around 9:30 and helped set up the McCain/Palin table.

The crowd response was incredible, we were giving out bumper stickers and yard signs hand over fist.

It was great to talk to the people about the election, especially the two high school-aged McCain supporters from Massachusetts who dropped by. I gave them some extra stickers to take behind enemy lines when they went home. They explained to me how the kids in their school are constantly ripping the McCain/Palin signs out of their lockers. Their exact words, "Dude, it's bad down there."

Suffice to say, this was not a very Obama-friendly crowd. That's not to say Captain Acorn wasn't on some folks' minds.

Needless to say, that made my day.

"I don't think we're in Massachusetts anymore, Toto."

But enough of that, where was First Dude Todd Palin?

He spent a good chunk of the morning meeting the folks and signing autographs. And, yes, he's just as genuine and approachable a guy as you'd imagine.

What started out as a friendly encounter, soon turned hostile when Palin threw down the gauntlet.

I don't think I have to tell you who kicked whose ass at arm wrestling.

Before leaving for the day, Todd came by the McCain table, signed more autographs, and took more pictures with the folks there.

Good times.

And now, the obligatory snowmobiles on open water video clip.

The Forecast Calls for Awesome

I knew Todd Palin was planning on attending the New Hampshire Grass Drags tomorrow morning in Fremont (see previous post here), but WMUR is now reporting that...

Palin and her husband, Todd, will visit a snowmobiling event in Fremont on Saturday morning.

Still looking for a second source to verify this.

Stay tuned.

UPDATE: WBZ still says it's just Todd Palin who will be in Fremont tomorrow.

The ACORN Ad

From the Department of Absolute Truisms:

If this was any conservative-leaning group with a proven history of forcing banks into risky lending practices, or perpetrating wide-scale voter registration fraud, the MSM would be spinning like a friggin' gyroscope on speed, trying to hammer down the 17 degrees of separation tying it to anyone related to the McCain campaign. As it is, they've decided to pretty much ignore the zero degrees of separation tying Barack Obama PERSONALLY to these scumbags.

Nope.

No agenda there.

The Birth of the Sub-Prime Meltdown

Great video here from 1998 of Andrew Cuomo, Bill Clinton’s Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, explaining how the federal government was going to be enforcing a legal settlement requiring banks to make loans to people that they know can't afford them.

Listen to him explain, in plain and simple terms, how these loans were inherently riskier than traditional home loans, normally issued according to the applicant's ability to repay the loan, and that there was inevitably going to be a higher default rate associated with these loans.

But, remember, it's all Bush's fault.

This is exactly the same kind of settlement that Barack Obama was looking for while working as an attorney in Chicago. It's nothing more than a feel-good house of cards, based entirely on the feft's socialistic vision of "economic justice", and brought about with zero regard to any detrimental effect to the economy that might ensue.

It's all Bush's fault.

This extortion racket, and that's precisely what it was, was defended in much the same way that Obama's record (or lack thereof) is being defended today. Anyone who speaks out against it labeled a racist and publicly shamed in the press.

Now, go back to the last two presidential debates, where it takes Obama all of two minutes or so before he launches into his predictable bullshit talking point about how the current economic crisis and the meltdown of the mortgage industry is the direct result of the failure of the policies of the Bush Administration.

In the late 90's, George W. Bush was the governor of Texas, while Barack Obama was busy taking mortgage lenders to court to coerce them into making risky loans to under-qualified applicants in the name of political correctness and the wide-scale advancement of his leftist ideology.

It's all Bush's fault.

If the roles were reversed, and we were to learn that John McCain had been directly involved in using our country's legal system to manipulate the mortgage market in this manner, how long would it have taken (please round up to the nearest second) for that story to be on the front page of every major newspaper in the country?

If Barack Obama is elected President in November, it will be OUR fault as a nation for not waking up in time to see what a serious mistake we just made.

First NH Stop of the Saracuda Express Confirmed

WBZ: Palin Coming To N.H. High School

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) ― At least one stop has been confirmed for Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's New Hampshire visit next week.

Dover High School Principal Deborah Migneault sent an e-mail to school employees saying Palin will attend a rally at the school around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The McCain campaign is checking potential sites for other stops around the state.

Meanwhile, the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association confirms that Palin's husband, Todd, will visit a snowmobiling event in Fremont. He is a champion snowmobile racer.

I wouldn't be surprised if Deval Patrick declares Wednesday a state holiday, so that all the Obama worshipers in Massachusetts can make the drive up to show us backwoods country folk how true "progressives" get their hate on.

Go Figure

You know, with all the talk about Barack Obama's lack of experience, you'd think he'd be bringing up all the great work he did as a young lawyer in Chicago, fighting for the rights of the down-trodden in his community, before entering the world of politics.

Why, it's almost as if he's got something to hide.

Governor Sarah Palin to Visit New Hampshire

***** POST UPDATED - SCROLL DOWN *****

WMUR: Palin To Campaign In NH On Wednesday

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is planning to visit New Hampshire on Wednesday.

Few details have been released, but state Republican Chairman Fergus Cullen confirmed that the visit will be on Wednesday.

John McCain's state campaign chairman, Peter Spaulding, said the campaign is checking potential sites in about a half dozen communities from the Seacoast to the North Country.

I'll be there. Stay tuned.

And, I'll try to find more information on this one, seeing as Fremont's right next door to me.

Palin's husband, Todd Palin, may visit a snowmobiling event this weekend in Fremont.

Not sure how much snowmobiling's gonna be taking place. New Hampshire winters aren't THAT bad.

UPDATE: OK, here's the scoop.

The 2008 New Hampshire Snowmobile Association's annual Grass Drags and Water Cross will be held this weekend at Peterson's Farm in Fremont.

I just got a call from the McCain campaign asking me if I'd be interested in working the booth there on Saturday. The event starts at 10:00 AM, and I've been told that Todd Palin will be there in the morning on Saturday.

See you there.

UPDATE II: Here's a little video preview.

This one gets extra bonus points for the soundtrack.

If Baptists were doing what ACORN has been doing, the press would be all over it, 24/7...

I'm sure the media would be just as uninterested in getting to the bottom of this story, had it been John McCain's campaign that conveniently "misreported" the fact they they had paid ACORN $800,000 to register new "voters".

Nope, nothing to see here. Move along.

Shocking News! Only, It's Neither.

As recently as 12 years ago, Barack Obama was a member of a socialist political party. Who'd have guessed?

In June sources released information that during his campaign for the State Senate in Illinois, Barack Obama was endorsed by an organization known as the Chicago "New Party". The 'New Party' was a political party established by the Democratic Socialists of America (the DSA) to push forth the socialist principles of the DSA by focusing on winnable elections at a local level and spreading the Socialist movement upwards.

[...]

From the October 1996 Update of the DSA 'New Party':

"New Party members are busy knocking on doors, hammering down lawn signs, and phoning voters to support NP candidates this fall. Here are some of our key races...

Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary)."

And, that discussion really wouldn't help Michelle Obama's kids.

Give Us This Day Our Daily Race Baiting Asshole

These people have no shame.

U.S. Rep. Barney Frank claims conservatives are trying to partly blame the nation’s economic woes on black people.

[...]

“The bizarre notion that the Community Reinvestment Act . . . somehow is the cause of the whole problem, (conservatives) don’t mind that,” the lawmaker said. “They’re aware that the affordable-housing goals of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (and) the Community Reinvestment Act (aim to help) poor people. And let’s be honest, the fact that some poor people are black doesn’t hurt either from their standpoint.”

Simply disgusting.

'Bout Friggin' Time

Where has this John McCain been hiding?

Will MA Voters Abolish the State Income Tax?

No.

Ain't gonna happen.

Never in a million friggin' years.

Remember, this is the same body of people, who, just two years ago, voted en masse not to allow the sale of wine in supermarkets, having been told by the government that they weren't to be trusted to make such purchasing decisions on their own, lest they then proceed to mow down the innocent in supermarket parking lots throughout the Commonwealth in uncontrollable fits of drunken rage.

You know, the same prophecy of bloodbaths and destruction that was supposed to come to fruition when Massachusetts recently loosened the restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday.

And, that teenagers would be lining up by the thousands to start buying cases of Pinot Noir to kick off their own drunk driving fatality massacre. You know, just the same way Al Qaeda operatives have been flooding your neighborhood gun shop ever since the federal ban on guns that look scary expired back in '04.

"BLOOD IN THE STREETS!!!"

No, I expect this initiative to be defeated quite handily, somewhere in the neighborhood of 58-42. A lot of folks down there just seem to get off on feeding the hand that bites them. Rational discourse has been replaced by hysteria, hyperbole and fear-mongering. And the people love it.

No, I can't explain it.

Believe me, I've tried.

It's "For the Children"?

Tammy Bruce on the Obama/Wright relationship:

If you had heard this sort of stuff from your own church or social group, wouldn't you have walked out and never returned? What can you say about a man that stays there and then brings the kids?

If that, alone, shouldn't be reason enough to send a candidate packing, I don't know what is.

Let that serve as yet another stark difference between Barack ObamaTM, the product (aka: the Bearer of Unity and Hopenchange) and Barack Obama, the man (who decided that his children's lives would be spiritually enriched by exposing them to Jeremiah Wright's anti-American, racist hate-mongering).

Guess which one will be placing his hand on the Bible and reciting the oath of office in January, if, God forbid, this country doesn't wake up over the next four weeks.

Some will say this is merely a right-wing effort to beat a dead horse. I strongly disagree. This horse never even came close to being killed when this story first made headlines.

As this controversy started to grow legs, and threaten Barack Obama's standing as a candidate for president, all The Product had to do is give a canned speech about his religious faith and the door was closed. The mainstream media felt a collective thrill run up their pants, and all but declared an official blackout on all references to Jeremiah Wright.

Those who dared challenge The Product, or the opinions of his operatives in the media, were immediately attacked by the Hopenchange Race Baiting Machine, and branded as hate-filled bigots.

Barack Obama's campaign deflecting any and all criticism of The Product by making vile, baseless accusations of racism.

Dogs licking their balls.

It's what they do.

It's Official

You can now add Bill Ayers to the ever-growing list of racist code words that...oh wait, never mind, I had that one on the list already, back in June.

And just to show the Obama Campaign and I are, in fact, working off of the same list racist code words, here's what a Democrat strategist had to say about Sarah Palin daring to mention Bill Ayers' name on the campaign trail.

“It’s a giant changing of the subject,” said Jenny Backus, a Democratic strategist. “The problem is the messenger. If you want to start throwing fire bombs, you don’t send out the fluffy bunny to do it. I think people don’t take Sarah Palin seriously.”

Back to the list now (linked above).

And, for future reference, here's the partial list of approved, non-racist words and phrases bearing the Obama stamp of approval:

Hope
Change
Fluffy bunnies

So, don't you dare attempt to refute anything Ms. Backus has to say on this matter. She used the appropriate, pre-approved terminology.

Not To Be Outdone by Lyin' Joe Biden

Barack Obama: I never worked for ACORN...except for when I was, you know, working for ACORN.

Whether the "Straight Talk Express" continues to allow the "Bullshit Shuttle" to roll down the tracks unchecked for the next 30 days remains to be seen. Just don't expect the MSM to lift a finger to uncover any of the lies fueling that train. Their hand's on the throttle driving the damn thing, while The ProductTM is six cars back in the lounge having a cocktail and watching the scenery go by.

The Cheap Ticket Just Gets You In the Door

For 50 bonus points, guess how much a bag of cotton candy will set you back at the Greatest Show Money-Sucking Vacuum on Earth.

For the record, before we even left the house, we told the kids that we weren't going to be buying them any toys at the circus. We did promise them a cotton candy, though.

And, I thought six-dollar beers at the ballpark were bad.

Journalistic Bubble Wrap

As if you needed further proof that the New York Times is little more than a PR firm working on behalf of the Barack Obama for President campaign.

What I find truly frightening about this election cycle is the fact that so many people are wholly enamored of, and are planning on voting for, Barack ObamaTM, the product, not knowing ANYTHING at all about Barack Obama, the man.

For the next 30 days, the liberal media in this country will be working harder than ever to prevent anyone from damaging their precious merchandise, wrapping it in layers upon layers of journalistic bubble wrap, while at the same time, doing everything they can to smear the integrity, honor, and reputation of its political opponents.

The main objective of our so-called "free" press, as far as this upcoming election is concerned, has always been to get as many voters as possible to fall in love with the happy, smiling family depicted in the Sea Monkeys ad in the back of their Archie comic books and get them to send in their check or money order for $1.25 by November 4th, knowing full well that what their customers will be getting in the mail in January will bear no resemblance to the advertised product.

Retraction From the Boston Globe

No, it wasn't a retraction of their factually-deficient Sarah Palin "rape kit" smearjob of an editorial. They still stand by that piece of journalistic filth. Besides, everyone knows lies about Republicans are the "New Truth"TM.

They have, however, retracted the Barack Obama Designer Handbag from their on-line store.

I'm sorry, there are no products matching your criteria. Please try again.

The CBS VP Debate Poll

Here's the headline from the poll taken last night by the Couric Broadcasting System:

CBS Poll: Uncommitted Voters Say Biden Won

Here's the data report (.pdf link).

Let's take a closer look.

First, let's look at how CBS defines the word "undecided".

Immediately after the debate, CBS News interviewed a nationally representative sample of nearly 500 debate watchers assembled by Knowledge Networks who were “uncommitted voters” – voters who are either undecided about who to vote for or who have a preference but say they could still change their minds.

So, some of the respondents who participated in this poll of "undecideds" went into it with a preferred candidate in mind, But, nowhere in this report do they show the breakdown, either by candidate preference or by party affiliation, of the sample of respondents.

46% of these uncommitted debate watchers said Biden won the debate tonight, while 21% said Palin won. 33% thought it was a tie.

Without the breakdown showing the number of Democrats and Republicans in that sample, these numbers are as meaningful as White Lion lyrics.

But here's my favorite line.

Even a quarter of Republican uncommitted voters thought Biden won the debate.

Nope, no pro-Biden bias there.

It's evident that they did, in fact, record the party affiliation of the respondents, thereby knowing how many Republicans were included in their sample, but for some unknown (uh-huh) reason, they've decided to keep that information secret.

So, there's no way of knowing what number "a quarter" of Republicans really is.

And, from the Truly Shocking Files, they make NO MENTION of the number of Democrats in their sample who thought Palin won the debate.

How anyone can read this report that emphasizes how many Republicans thought Biden won the debate, and fails to report the number or percentage of Democrats who felt Palin won the debate, and call it unbiased or statistically relevant is beyond my level of comprehension.

This is nothing more than the kind of pro-Obama propaganda we've come to expect from the mainstream media, a collective of "smarter than thou" elitists sworn to do everything in their power to assist in Obama's "rightful" ascension the presidency.

Bruce's Rule of Thumb #21: If anyone tries to feed you poll results without providing you a complete set of polling internals, odds are, you're being taken for a fool.

Bruce's Rule of Thumb #22: Any poll from the people who brought you Rathergate should be taken with a grain of salt the size of Barack Obama's ego.

Obligatory Post-VP Debate Post

In my biased opinion, Governor Palin did just fine.

Reagan always spoke with a smile too.

But, if I had to pick a winner, I'd give the nod to Gwen Ifill, who played it right down the middle. She kept it balanced and didn't play favorites. Whether the public outcry over her upcoming book on the "Age of Obama" played a part in that, who knows?

I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Good job.

Now, let's get to work.

I'll be doing a little door-to-door campaigning with the McCain people in Exeter on Saturday morning. Shoot me an e-mail if you wanna join us. Also, I was at the Stratham office earlier today. They've got some of them honkin' big McCain/Palin yard signs (think sheet of plywood) if
you want one.

Need Something to Carry All That Kool-Aid In?

Try the Obama Designer Handbag, only $46.80 at the Boston Globe Store.

A powerful image, a powerful message...."carry a conversation" of hope and change. The Obama handbag made by FlashBag is the perfect head turning blend of fashion sense meets common sense. No handbag collection is complete this Fall without the Obama handbag.

Because you'll want to look as stylish as possible for your fellow Obamatron cultist friends, while you're reading the Globe's latest Sarah Palin smearjob.

(H/T to reader Jim. Thanks for the email...I think.)

UPDATE: Here's the screenshot, just in case that page mysteriously disappears anytime soon.

UPDATE II: Welcome, Michelle Malkin readers. Take off your coats and stay a while. Pull up a chair, and I'll go grab us a couple cold PBR's.

And, feel free to buy some stickers to help me beef up the ammo fund.

How the Left Is Spinning the Gwen Ifill Story...

...and how the media will not.

So, the official response from the Obamapologists over the Gwen Ifill flap is that, since the information about her upcoming book was publicly available prior to the debate schedule being agreed on by both campaigns, the McCain camp either (A) knew about it and went along with it anyway, or (B) they were simply negligent in failing to properly vet Ms. Ifill's background.

The McCain campaign is saying they didn't know about her book when they agreed to the terms of the debate.

The Left is playing the "tough shit" card, essentially saying there's no way he couldn't have known about it, and his own fault for being so stupid.

Think about that for a minute.

Following their "logic", what they're also saying is that since, in their eyes, Barack Obama and Joe Biden are the most intelligent, all-knowing beings in the known universe, they knew all about the book Ifill was writing and openly supported her being named as debate moderator, thereby willfully stacking the deck in their favor, presumably, to help Biden avoid being asked any difficult questions.

Where's the "new politics" of Hopenchange?

More importantly, what are you afraid of, Joe?

Surely, someone as wrapped up in the banner of open and transparent bipartisanship as Obama would have us believe him to be would speak out against naming a blatant Obama supporter with a financial interest in the outcome of the election as the moderator of such an important debate.

Unless, of course, all his empty rhetoric is, well, empty rhetoric.

Truth Squads - Free State Style

There's an absolutely priceless exchange here (at 01:39) between a Concord (NH) Police Officer and a small group of local political activists peaceably assembled on the sidewalk, protesting the arrest of a fellow activist.

Police Officer: What's going? Why are we here today? And do we have a permit for being here?

Citizens: (laughter)

Ordinary citizens standing up against an agent of the government, who was using ignorance and intimidation as weapons in an attempt to violate the Constitutional rights of the people.

Compare and contrast those individuals to Barack "Constitutional Scholar Extraordinaire" Obama's so-called "truth squads", agents of the government who made it their mission to intimidate and threaten with possible arrest and prosecution, those citizens who would choose to exercise their right to speak freely against the Truth Squad's candidate of choice.

UPDATE: The video seems to be loading reeeeeal slow on YouTube. Stick with it if you can. It's so worth it to hear the cop getting laughed at - a spectacular "We're not in Massachusetts, anymore, Toto" moment.

UPDATE II: Might as well put the clip here too.

And, FTR, that was Concord Police Officer Mark Hassapes in that video. Officer Hassapes currently serves as Chief Thug Steward for the Concord Police Patrolmen's Association.

Among our ongoing efforts is a continual focus on striving to better serve the public through partnerships with the City of Concord and other groups representing the greater Concord community.

Officer Hassapes, if you really want to "better serve the public", I highly recommend you enroll yourself in an introductory course on the First Amendment rights of the people you're sworn to protect.

Or, is harassing law-abiding civilians one of your preferred techniques for getting one those "nice" adrenaline rushes you like so much?

Can't Spell "Canned"...

...without C-N-N.

It all depends on one's definitions of "most", "trusted", and "news".

If someone could please tell me this is a hoax designed to make CNN look bad [read: worse than they already are], I would greatly appreciate it.

Nope, No Conflict of Interest Here

This is Gwen Ifill.

She has written a book titled, Politics and Race in the Age of Obama, which will be available for sale, coincidentally, around the time the next President of the United States is sworn into office.

If the ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden prevails in November, she stands to profit handsomely from the sales of this book.

Gwen Ifill is slated to be the "moderator" for tomorrow night's vice presidential debate between Governor Sarah Palin and Senator Joe Biden.

Nope, nothing to see here people.

What conflict of interest?

Just keep staring into the Hopenchange Hypnodisc and everything will be OK.

Link via Hot Air and Michelle Malkin, who saves me the trouble of having to ask today's ORFUQ:

Ifill and her publisher are banking on an Obama/Biden win to buoy her book sales. The moderator expected to treat both sides fairly has grandiosely declared this the “Age of Obama.” Can you imagine a right-leaning journalist writing a book about the “stunning” McCain campaign and its “bold” path to reform timed for release on Inauguration Day – and then expecting a slot as a moderator for the nation’s sole vice presidential debate?
